Animating Landscape Panoramas
Workshop by Artist Birgitta Hosea
In October 2024, I participated in the "Animating Landscape" workshop led by artist Birgitta Hosea at South Hill Park Arts Centre. The workshop was part of Birgitta Hosea’s exhibition "Holes," used collage, mixed media, and Stop Motion Studio to explore Victorian panoramas and build story worlds. During this process, I collaborated with Sage and Zhuyuan to create a short animation about aliens and penguins invading an amusement park. We drew inspiration from the landscapes and facilities of the nearby South Hill Park amusement park, including the gardens, lakes, children's play areas, and natural woodlands, all surrounded by historic buildings and public spaces, which provided a rich narrative backdrop. Meanwhile, all the animations created during the workshop were displayed alongside Birgitta Hosea’s exhibition.
